Musical Director

Oded serves as Musical Director for various live shows. As part of his duties Oded builds the program, writes arrangements, hires and rehearses the band, and conducts the performance.

In 2009 Oded was asked by the Ouro Preto Jazz Festival to serve as musical director for an all-star band celebrating Billie Holiday on the occasion of her death 50 years prior. The band consisted of Anat Cohen - Clarinet, Marcus Strickland - Tenor Sax, Ingrid Jensen - Trumpet, Bucky Pizarreli - Guitar, Mulgrew Miller - Piano, Ron Carter - Bass and Antonio Sanchez - Drums. Oded was also asked to select a Brazilian singer to join the group, and he tapped Mart'nalia.



Conductor

Oded serves as conductor for his own arrangements and compositions, as well as other groups. Oded serves as conductor for the Anzic Orchestra, has conducted the IDF Orchestra as well as groups various groups featuring Lewis Nash, Anat Cohen, Avishai Cohen, Ted Nash, Scott Robinson, Obed Calvier, Russell Malone, Ron Carter, Antonio Sanchez, Erik Friedlander and others. 

 

Pianist

As a pianist, Oded has appeared in Mexico, Canada, Russia, France, the Netherlands and the United States, and on stages such as Jordan Hall in Boston, the Mann Auditorium in Tel-Aviv and New York Jazz clubs such as The Stone and Cornelia Street Cafe.

Teacher and Lecturer

Oded has been active in education for aspiring musicians of all ages. He has developed improvisation and composition curricula for children, teenagers and adults. As a lecturer, Oded leads Songwriting for Non-Musicians, and Musical Ensembles and Team Building workshops.

 

Co-Owner and Manager for Anzic Records, LLC

Oded served as Anzic Records General Manager since its inception. In 2009 Oded and Anat Cohen bought the company, and Oded has continued to manage it. The critically acclaimed boutique label is based in New York and specializes in good music.
